About couplings & spider elements
Coupling spiders and elastic elements are the flexible inserts between the two hubs of a jaw or star coupling. They carry the torque from motor to pump or gearbox, absorb shock and allow slight misalignment. We stock spiders and coupling elements in PU, TPU, natural rubber and nylon, plus KTR, ROTEX and Lovejoy jaw couplings.
Tell us the coupling type and size (for example L-70, or the hub diameter), or send a photo of the old element, and we'll find the replacement.

When should a coupling spider be replaced?
When it is cracked, flattened or crumbling, or when the coupling starts to knock or vibrate. A new spider is cheap and protects the motor and pump bearings.
Does the hardness of a spider matter?
Yes. Harder spiders carry more torque but pass on more vibration; softer ones damp more but carry less. Match the hardness of the spider you are replacing.
Do you supply complete couplings?
Yes. We supply jaw couplings as well as the spare spiders and elements. Tell us the shaft sizes and the motor power.
